Zig Zag Penetration

Slide a thick pen through a mysterious accordion-like object with four holes.

Ask a spectator to hold both ends of the pen firmly, but when you pull the object while draping a handkerchief over it, the pen passes right through as if it were melting. The pen slips out effortlessly-without the magician ever putting a hand inside the handkerchief or getting caught on anything along the way.

You can also perform this trick using a spectator’s finger instead of a pen. The strange sensation of the object slipping right through the finger will likely cause the audience to gasp in surprise.
