Inspired by “Trapdoor” by Bacon Fire.

The Great Danton is my personal evolution of a beautiful concept. While Trapdoor is already a stunning effect, I always imagined a version where the rubber band is clearly visible between the fingers… right up until the exact moment it vanishes.

With the original handling, this visual moment wasn’t possible. The image of the band suspended between the fingers just wouldn’t leave my mind. So, after a full year of experimenting and even longer refining the handling, I finally solved the problem.

The result is The Great Danton: a practical, real-world method that allows you to openly display the bands between your fingers, and then make them impossibly disappear. Designed for everyday performers, it’s clean, visual, and truly magical.

Vanish in thin air: A clean disappearance that looks like pure CGI.
Breaking the rubber band: What it looks like when the band snaps… but doesn’t.
Vanish behind closed doors: You don’t see the band vanish, but it’s gone.
Each handling is unique and gives you a different visual. There is something for everyone. It’s a fun trick to practice, and you will fool everyone shortly after.
