Who is the Guv and why is this his trick? The Guv (short for Governor) is the TV industry’s nickname for legendary writer/producer Michael Sloan. After watching me perfect this routine at the Magic Castle, Michael wrote an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents (Houdini on Channel 4) that featured the trick.
The routine also resulted in me being hired for several TV commercials and as the technical advisor for Kenny Rogers as The Gambler. These are just a few of the reasons I consider this routine to be my “Secret Weapon.”
